Seeking Volunteers for Afternoon visits M-F preferred 1-2 hours a week with flexibility, although weekend visits may be available. 
Do you like visiting? Would you like to connect weekly with a person who is isolated and seeking social companionship? 
Currently seeking volunteers for in-person visits for clients of Assisted Living Alberta (Formerly Alberta Health Services)  Home Care located in St. Albert. Volunteers are matched one to one with a client in their area and should be available for a 1-2 hour weekly social/companionship visit preferred Monday through Friday. Schedule can be flexible. Volunteers choose their client and environment that works for them. Volunteers are matched one on one with clients of the Assisted Living Program who have few informal social supports. Volunteers visit the client of their choosing in the client's home in community once a week for 1-2 hours with flexibility, or may take a client out to grocery, medical or urgent appointment if the volunteer registers as a driver. Mileage reimbursement  is available for the grocery and medical role where the client is without means to use alternate transportation services.  Volunteers provide companionship and engage in social activities, but do not do any personal care, no hands-on care, no lifting, no heavy work for the client

Volunteer must be over 18,  fill out an application, attend an online or in person interview and orientations, provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Search, provide two references, sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Position Description, provide a photo of themselves for an ID badge and report time volunteered each month to their coordinator.
Additional registration required for those wishing to transport clients in their role.
