Volunteer Driver for Medical Appointments Mileage Paid

Volunteer Drivers are needed in the Edmonton Zone  to transport clients of the Assisted Living Alberta Home care program to medical or urgent appointments they may otherwise miss. This service is provided for clients who are without means, resources, or other options for transportation. Referrals are made by case managers and the volunteer drivers on our roster can accept or decline drive assignments as it fits with their schedule. 

Mileage reimbursement is available for the volunteer driver.  Volunteers do not do any personal care, no hands-on care, no lifting, no heavy work for the client

Volunteers must be 18, register in the ALA database, interview, provide a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search & References, complete Orientations and sign positions description and confidentiality agreements. Volunteers drivers must also provide a driver's Abstract from an Alberta Registry, provide a copy of their insurance each time it comes due and fill out paperwork to attest to their safe driving history.
