Marketing Content Producer (Volunteer)

Time commitment: 4-8 hours per week IAABC Foundation is seeking a Marketing Content Producer to support the creation of ethical, accurate, and marketing-ready content for social media and other digital platforms within the Foundation’s financial reach. This role is focused on hands-on content production and editorial review, executing on the high-level marketing strategy developed by IAABC Foundation. The ideal candidate is familiar with IAABC Foundation’s mission and values and has a working understanding of the ethics and standards of animal behavior consulting and training. This knowledge is critical to ensuring that all content accurately represents humane, evidence-based practices and avoids imagery, language, or messaging that could misrepresent the field or cause harm. This role works closely with the Social Media Manager, Communications Director, and a dedicated video editor to transform existing educational and event content into effective marketing assets. Responsibilities 1. Content Production & Editorial Review Produce marketing-ready content in video and graphic formats for social media and other digital platforms. Review existing video recordings, course footage, instructor presentations, and event content to identify segments suitable for marketing use. Create time-coded, second-by-second clip scripts and detailed editing instructions to guide the video editor in assembling high-quality marketing assets. Ensure content selections clearly convey ethical, humane, and evidence-based animal behavior practices. Identify and flag content that should not be used for marketing due to ethical, contextual, or messaging concerns. 2. Team Collaboration & Implementation Work directly with a dedicated video editor to translate editorial guidance into finalized marketing assets. Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Communications Director to confirm content direction, messaging alignment, and readiness for publication. Coordinate with graphic and video collaborators as needed to ensure consistency with approved visual and messaging standards. 3. Coaching & Content Readiness Support Provide guidance to animal behavior professionals, instructors, and speakers on how to create marketing-viable raw content. Offer practical coaching related to lighting, audio quality, framing, duration, pacing, and delivery to improve the usability of submitted footage. Support educators in understanding how their content may be adapted for marketing purposes while preserving accuracy and integrity. 4. Ethics, Standards & Brand Alignment Apply IAABC Foundation’s ethics, standards, and visual guidelines when reviewing and producing content. Ensure all marketing assets reflect current best practices in animal behavior consulting and training. Maintain sensitivity to how animals, clients, and professionals are portrayed across all content. 5. Tools & Ways of Working Work within task and work management tools such as Monday.com or Airtable. Communicate and collaborate using tools such as Slack and Google Workspace. Operate effectively in a distributed, largely volunteer-based organization with contributors across multiple time zones. Job Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required Demonstrated experience producing digital marketing content, particularly video-based content for social media. Strong editorial judgment and the ability to evaluate content for clarity, ethics, and audience appropriateness. Familiarity with the animal behavior, training, or animal welfare space, including an understanding of humane, evidence-based practices. Experience collaborating with video editors using written scripts, time codes, and editorial direction. Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Preferred Prior experience working with nonprofits, professional associations, or education-focused organizations. Experience coaching subject-matter experts who are not professional content creators. Familiarity with brand guidelines and visual consistency standards. Availability to volunteer 4-8 hours per week.
