Volunteer Opportunity: Mentor

Our mentorship program supports students who have already completed our English program and are preparing for the next stage of their journey. Currently 117 mentorship students are working toward opportunities including:

. Online bachelor’s and master’s degrees
. Scholarships for universities abroad
. Remote internships and online work opportunities

COMMITMENT
Dates: Starting from 3 August - 6 December 2026
Location: Remote
Time commitment: 2 hours per week for 16 weeks

. 1 hour mentoring session with students
. 1 hour preparation or follow up
. Mentors and students schedule sessions at mutually convenient times. Both men and women can apply.

ROLE
Formal mentoring experience is not required, and we welcome applications from both male and female mentors. We are seeking professionals who are emotionally intelligent, passionate about helping others grow, and interested in supporting Afghan women during a humanitarian crisis. Mentors follow an outlined programme framework and are supported by the Mentorship Programme leadership team throughout the semester. Your role is not to lecture or teach, but to help students think clearly about their goals and the practical steps needed to move forward. Sessions are conversational, supportive, and focused on helping students develop clarity, judgement, and direction.

Ideally, we look for mentors who hold a Master’s degree alongside 10 years professional experience, however we also warmly welcome applications from professionals with Bachelor’s degrees and strong career backgrounds who feel they may be able to positively contribute to the students’ development.

Mentors are typically paired with groups of up to 5 students aged 18 to 26, all of whom are fluent in English.

We welcome mentors from ALL professional backgrounds. We are currently looking for professionals from the following fields:
. IT
. Data science
. Recruitment
. Law
. Engineering
. Healthcare
. International relations
. Business or entrepreneurship
. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The mentorship programme is organised around three pathways:
. Online Higher Education – preparation for online bachelor’s and master’s degrees
. Higher Education Abroad – preparation for scholarship applications and university placements abroad
. Career Pathway – preparation for internships, remote work, and professional opportunities
Students are fluent in English and highly motivated. Many already hold university degrees but have been prevented from working because they are women.
