Safe Families Canada Calgary: Chair Person

3-6 hours / monthly
2 Years
At Safe Families Canada Calgary (SFCC), we believe that no family should face a crisis alone. Our local program provides vital support to families in need, offering mentoring, practical help, and hope through compassionate volunteers. Behind the scenes, our Leadership Council plays a crucial role in guiding and growing these programs. Serving as the Chair of a local Leadership Council is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in your community while using your leadership skills for a meaningful cause.

As Chair, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic team of local professionals and community leaders, working alongside the Chapter Director to ensure the program is healthy, relevant, and meeting the needs of families in crisis. You will help shape the direction of your local chapter by guiding three core priorities: Leadership (setting vision and advising the Chapter Director), Partnership (building networks, telling the story, connecting with local leaders and organizations), and Stewardship (protecting values, supporting fundraising and resource development).

You’ll get to collaborate with passionate volunteers and professionals from diverse backgrounds, bringing together a variety of perspectives and expertise, from business, marketing, and communications to social services and faith communities. You’ll help your Council identify needs, recommend initiatives, and support innovative solutions that directly benefit families in crisis. Along the way, you’ll act as an ambassador for SFCC, representing the organization to churches, community partners, and local stakeholders.

The Chair role offers a mix of strategic and hands-on involvement: you’ll lead quarterly Council meetings, collaborate on agendas, facilitate discussions, oversee sub-committees for time-limited projects, and communicate regularly with the Chapter Director. You’ll help celebrate successes, track progress, and provide guidance on initiatives that expand SFCC’s reach and impact. This is a chance to exercise leadership in a meaningful, mission-driven context while also building relationships with like-minded individuals committed to serving families in your community.

Being the Chair is not just about meetings—it’s about shaping the future of a ministry that has lasting impact. You’ll see your guidance result in stronger support for families, more engaged volunteers, and a community that thrives on hope and care. You’ll be part of a team that values humility, creativity, integrity, and a heart for service.

If you’re looking for a way to use your time, talents, and leadership for something bigger than yourself, leading a Safe Families Canada Calgary Leadership Council is an opportunity to make a real difference. You’ll leave your mark on families’ lives, your community, and the future of a movement that reflects the power of faith, compassion, and collaborative action.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
As Chair of a Safe Families Canada Leadership Council, you’ll shape the future of a ministry that supports families in crisis, lead a passionate team of local leaders, build meaningful community connections, influence key initiatives, and see the real impact of your leadership, helping families thrive while using your skills for a purpose-driven cause.
