Volunteer Public Relations (PR) Manager

My Neighbour’s Keeper is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit rooted in the belief that no one should walk through life’s challenges alone. We offer holistic, volunteer-powered support — emotional, mental, practical, and spiritual — to isolated seniors, overstretched caregivers, individuals navigating illness, grief, loneliness, disability, trauma, or reintegration after incarceration.
We need a passionate and strategic communicator to help us tell our story.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Volunteer Public Relations (PR) Manager to help build MNK’s public presence, manage media relationships, and communicate our mission through compelling stories that inspire engagement, trust, and support.
You’ll play a key role in increasing awareness, securing media coverage, and shaping how MNK is perceived by the public, and potential supporters.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute PR strategies to promote MNK’s mission and campaigns
Write and distribute press releases, op-eds, and media alerts
Build relationships with local media, journalists, and publications
Pitch stories to news outlets, community platforms, and social media influencers
Support the team in preparing talking points, media kits, and event communications
Help amplify impact stories and client/volunteer testimonials (with permission)

Ideal Candidate
Experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or media relations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for social impact and mental health
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with a small, mission-driven team
Able to work remotely with periodic virtual check-ins
