Run for L'Arche 2026 Event Volunteer

The 2026 Run for L’Arche is almost here, and we’re inviting our amazing community to help make this day welcoming, joyful, and inclusive for everyone involved. Now in its 16th year, the Run for L’Arche supports L’Arche Calgary, a community dedicated to creating belonging for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Location: Confluence Plaza, St. Patrick’s Island 1300 12 Street NE, Calgary
Start Time: 8:00 AM (Some volunteer roles may require earlier arrival; details will be shared after sign-up.)

Volunteer Opportunities

Course Marshals (high priority need):  Direct runners along the course, ensure their safety, and cheer them on. Arrive on time and stay until the sweep cyclist clears the course. Volunteers can sign up in pairs to be stationed together along the route.

Greeters & Venue Support: Greet and cheer participants at the start and finish lines. Hand out medals as runners complete their races. Assist with event setup, takedown, and general inquiries.

Water Station Volunteers: Hand out water and energy drinks to runners. Assist with preparing and mixing the drinks before distribution. Provide encouragement to participants along the route. Limited to four volunteers per station.

1K Fun Run Activity Stations: Engage children and individuals with disabilities in fun, family-friendly games. Guide participants through the short 1K course.

Course Cyclists: Ride with lead and final runners and monitor the route. The cyclist positions are open for 3K, 5K, and 10k.

Volunteering is open to individuals, families, groups, and corporate teams. No experience is required, just a willingness to help and a heart for community. You’ll receive your assigned role, arrival time, and detailed instructions closer to the event.
