ASL Intepreter

Inn from the cold is looking for a fluent American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to help our guests.
The ASL Interpreter will assist in bridging communication between guests, staff, and volunteers who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Responsibilities may include:
•	Interpreting conversations between staff and guests
•	Assisting hard of hearing individuals in navigating the shelter and accessing services
•	Other interpreting-related duties as required
We are looking for compassionate, community-minded individuals who are:
•	Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
•	Police Check
•	Strong communicators and active listeners
•	Respectful of confidentiality and privacy
•	Familiar with (or willing to learn about) Inn From The Cold and its mission
•	Reliable and punctual
•	Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
All volunteers will receive orientation through Inn from the Cold’s Volunteer Resources team. FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) training will be provided. Additional role-specific support or training will be available as needed.
