The Confluence is looking for enthusiastic, adaptable volunteers to support our special events throughout the year. Special events volunteers assist with a wide range of tasks that help bring large-scale, high-energy community days to life. These roles are perfect for volunteers who enjoy variety, teamwork, and being part of meaningful moments. Our special events may include East End Cold Spell, Walk for Reconciliation (National Indigenous Peoples’ Day), Canada Day, Queer Prom, Orange Shirt Day, and other festivals, celebrations, and gatherings as they arise. Department: Special Projects and Volunteers Shifts: Indoor and outdoor | Daytime, evenings, and weekends WHAT YOU’LL DO • Welcoming and wayfinding. • Activity or activation support. • Setup and takedown of event spaces. • Information tables or check-in. • Supporting staff, artists, and partners. • Monitoring spaces to support safety and flow. Tasks vary by event, and training or briefings are provided before each shift. WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR • Volunteers who enjoy dynamic, fast-paced environments. • People comfortable working indoors and outdoors. • Those interested in community, culture, and public events. • Volunteers open to trying different tasks and supporting where needed.
