The confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers has been a historical and cultural gathering place for time immemorial. From its origins as Mohkinsstsis (Blackfoot), Wîchîspa (Nakoda), and Guts’ists’i (Tsuut’ina), to its more recent history, Fort Calgary has a complex story to tell.
The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland is operated by the a registered charity and nonprofit organization, The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland Society. The Confluence is a 42-acre parkland on traditional Indigenous lands, a cultural centre, a venue, and a community space. The Confluence hosts public programs, youth programs, private events, and many festivals over the course of the year.
