Junior Camp Leaders Needed

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Youth and Public Programs and Volunteer Manager
Shifts: Indoor and outdoor | Daytime (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

The Confluence Summer Camps for children ages 6-12 offer a fun and educational environment that encourages kids to build friendships, develop confidence, and participate as active citizens in the community. Junior Camp Leaders will be responsible for assisting in leading campers in learning about the rich history of Mohkinsstis through visual arts, drama, nature and science. Please note: this is a volunteer position. Junior Camp Leaders do not lead or supervise summer camps and assist paid staff members in providing a safe, fun experience at camp.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Work collaboratively with The Confluence staff to support the set-up and delivery of summer camp programs.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers from ages 6-12.
• Play games with campers and support campers as they engage in activities and crafts.
• Assist with the set up and clean program areas daily.
• Consistently follow program policies and procedures with campers.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR
• Youth between the age of 15–19-year-old (as of July 1, 2026)
• Experience supervising youth in informal learning environments is considered an asset.
• Highly energetic, creative, and spontaneous, with contagious enthusiasm.
• Enjoy working with children aged 6-12 years old.

REQUIREMENTS
• This is an onsite position running Monday to Friday from July 6 to August 21.
• Junior Camp Leader shifts run from 8:45 am to 4:15 pm.
• Volunteers are required to have a minimum of two full weeks (consecutive or non- consecutive) of availability during the summer.
