Ticket Sales Manager

12-20 hours / monthly
10 month term (August to May)
The Festival Chorus is an amateur community chorus of 50 to 60 members, enriching lives in the Calgary area for over 65 years, since 1959. The chorus typically performs three concerts per season. Ticket sales range from 350 to 600 patrons per concert depending on venue capacity. "Showpass" is the current ticket sales application used by the Festival Chorus. You will be the key contact for Showpass ticketing. Close monitoring, timely email communications (tickets@thefestivalchorus.com), and use of a "Showpass Dashboard" are essential to the role. Front-of-House duties at each concert venue are required for two hours prior to each concert to manage ticket scanning and door sales. Festival Chorus Board includes a paid professional Artistic Director and volunteer President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Other Board positions are either volunteer or paid short term contracts. The Ticket Sales Manager reports to the President and/or the Treasurer on a monthly basis.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
The Ticket Sales Manager is responsible for set-up and administration of all ticket sales for the concert season, including season subscriptions, on-line ticket sales via "Showpass", chorus consignment printed ticket sales, and front-of-house door sales. The role involves book-keeping of ticket sales and periodic reporting to the Board. There is exposure to marketing & promotion, simple accounting, budgeting (ticket pricing) and a future opportunity to serve on the Board.
