Group Support - Girls Culture Club

Volunteers who support Girls Culture Club will gain valuable hands-on experience working with youth from 10-17 (pending on location). Volunteers will have fun connecting with youth, build their self-esteem, help girls build connections and friendships. Your support will make a tangible difference in the lives of youth and they will forever cherish lifelong memories. 

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Volunteers will co-facilitate lunch programming for immigrant girls, providing to them the opportunity to make new friends, build confidence, and meet in a safe and welcoming place to discuss topics relevant to them and to develop life skills such as communication and goal achievement. Time commitment is September-May during school lunch times or after school hours (location pending).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•	Attend the program-specific orientation 
•	Support and co-facilitate with CIWA staff  
•	Engage in weekly activities with girls 
•	Support young immigrant girls in achieving their goals and completing their outputs every session
•	Be culturally aware and sensitive towards clients and other volunteers

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
•	Ensure that professional approach is aligned with CIWA values 
•	Demonstrate a high level of initiative and enthusiasm
•	Maintain confidentiality at all times
•	Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS
•	Between 18 to 35 years of age 
•	Experience and passion for working with youth
•	Punctual and reliable
•	Open minded, dedicated, and enthusiastic
•	Understand and respect diversity 
•	Strong communication skills
