Drop-in English Practice Volunteers Needed at Calgary Public Library!

Drop-In English Practice program helps adult newcomers with basic to intermediate English skills practice English facilitated by Library Volunteers. It is an informal, patron-driven conversation space. The program room is set up with large tables and chairs. Each table has one volunteer to help facilitate conversations between the patrons at their table by using simple word prompts which are provided. The volunteer role is to help introduce the prompt topic (for example, what is your favourite food?) and then to encourage conversation between the newcomers, helping with definitions and pronunciation if needed. Minimum Volunteer commitment: Two months, 90 minutes weekly.
