Call for Immigrant Advisory Table Volunteers

The Calgary Local Immigration Partnership (CLIP) is seeking new members for its Immigrant Advisory Table (IAT). 

CLIP is looking for volunteers who were born outside of Canada and who represent a variety of ages, educational backgrounds, countries of origin and experiences. 

The role of the IAT is to share their first-hand experience and insight on living as newcomers in Calgary which will inform and support the work of CLIP in creating welcoming communities. 

Your role as a volunteer:
•	Regularly attend and participate in IAT meetings (meetings operate monthly from 
        August – March, unless otherwise stipulated). 
•	Engage with various City of Calgary groups and organizations on how to make Calgary 
        more welcoming for newcomers. 
•	Connect with your own networks to bring their ideas to the table 
•	Share information about CLIP with people you know and support the vision of CLIP 

Requirements:
•	Born outside of Canada and reside in Calgary 
•	Attend scheduled meetings (in person and virtual) 
•	Offer opportunities and strategies to improve newcomers’ experience in Calgary  
•	Provide feedback to help others better understand the experiences and needs of a 
        newcomer

Preferred qualities of the applicant: 
•	Possess knowledge of newcomer’s mental health, sport or newcomer emerging issues
