Volunteer Opportunity: Community Program Volunteers
Volunteer Opportunity: Community Program Volunteers (5–10 Positions) The Calgary International Learning Institute (CILI) is looking for 5–10 enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to support our educational and community programs for children, youth, seniors, and English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. If you enjoy helping others, value lifelong learning, and want to make a positive impact in your community, we invite you to join our team. As a volunteer, you will work alongside experienced staff to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. Depending on your interests and skills, you may tutor children with homework, reading, or math, mentor youth through leadership and life skills activities, assist seniors with computer and smartphone skills, or help ESL learners improve their English through conversation and classroom support. Volunteers may also assist with workshops, community events, and administrative tasks. We welcome students, retirees, professionals, newcomers, and community members from all backgrounds. No previous teaching experience is required, only a positive attitude, patience, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Orientation, training, and ongoing mentorship will be provided to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role. Volunteering with CILI is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership, communication, teaching, and teamwork skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Eligible volunteers may receive practicum or field placement hours, an honorarium (subject to program funding), mentorship, a volunteer reference letter, and recognition for their service. At CILI, we believe education has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. Whether you are helping a senior gain confidence with technology, supporting a child in school, mentoring a young person, or encouraging an ESL learner, your contribution will help create opportunities for learning, inclusion, and personal growth. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to empowering individuals and building stronger communities.
