Side by Side, Changing Lives - "The Big Couple" Mentorship program at BBBS Calgary, two of you together can mentor in a child's life
Share the experience. Shape a future—together. The Big Couple program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area is a unique way for two people—partners, siblings, friends, or family members—to volunteer together and mentor a child or youth in need of extra support. As a pair, you’ll be matched with one young person (a "Little") and spend quality time building a consistent, caring relationship that helps them feel seen, supported, and inspired. This shared volunteer experience allows you to make a meaningful difference as a team—offering your Little the power of connection, encouragement, and a strong, stable presence, and you get to do it all with support of each other. Spend time with your Little 2–4 times per month doing fun, everyday activities—biking, baking, hiking, sharing hobbies, or trying something new. Offer guidance, friendship, and encouragement through a developmental relationship. Help a young person feel more confident, connected, and cared for. This opportunity is open for any committed pair of adults (18+), including: Couples (romantic or common-law) Siblings Parent-child duos (e.g., mother-daughter, father-son) Long-time friends or roommates No mentorship experience needed—just a shared desire to support a child in your community.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
A shared experience with someone you trust and care about. The chance to give back while strengthening your bond. The opportunity to help shape a young person’s future—and grow alongside them.
