Operations & Performance Manager — Better Days Foundation

Better Days Foundation is seeking a dedicated, strategic, and community-driven Operations & Performance Manager to lead the organization into its next stage of growth. This is a meaningful leadership opportunity to strengthen a Calgary-based nonprofit working to advance equity, alleviate poverty, and create pathways to opportunity for newcomers, low-income families, and Black Francophone and Anglophone communities.

ABOUT US

Founded in 2021, Better Days Foundation is a Calgary-based nonprofit committed to “Empowering Communities, Enriching Lives.” We provide education, essential services, and culturally responsive programs that help individuals and families overcome financial, linguistic, social, and systemic barriers.

Our programs address food insecurity, education, employment integration, women's empowerment, family development, homelessness, and senior well-being. Key initiatives include Nourishing Hope Hampers, Keys to the Future, Femmes Debout / Women Rising, L.I.F.T., Career Trades Pathway, and Golden Connections.

Our vision is to build a future where underrepresented Francophone and Anglophone communities thrive with dignity, opportunity, and equity.

THE ROLE

As Operations & Performance Manager, you will work closely with the Board of Directors to provide strategic leadership and expand Better Days Foundation's community impact. Key responsibilities include:

Leading organizational strategy, growth, and long-term planning
Overseeing programs, operations, staff, and volunteers
Driving fundraising, grant development, sponsorships, and donor engagement
Building relationships with government, funders, businesses, and community partners
Ensuring strong financial management, accountability, and nonprofit compliance
Strengthening organizational policies, systems, and governance
Representing Better Days Foundation at community events and stakeholder meetings
Supporting the development and expansion of culturally responsive programs
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Leadership experience in nonprofit management, community development, social services, or a related field
Experience with fundraising, grants, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement
Strong organizational and financial management skills
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking abilities
Experience working collaboratively with a Board of Directors
Cultural awareness and commitment to serving diverse Francophone and Anglophone communities
A collaborative, accountable, and community-focused leadership style
Passion for equity, poverty reduction, education, and community empowerment
