FRN Volunteer for Calgary Food Bank Drop-off

About the Position:  Closer to Home is seeking a dedicated, community-minded individual to join our Family Resource Network Hub (FRN) as a Calgary Food Bank Drop-Off Volunteer. In this vital role, you will bridge the gap between our support workers and local families, ensuring essential food security resources are delivered with clarity and empathy.
Responsibilities:
Safely deliver donations from the Family Resource Network Hub to the Calgary Food Bank.
Commit to a predictable schedule: 3 hours every second Monday of the month.
Represent Closer to Home with a reliable and community-minded attitude during drop-offs.
Qualifications:
Must be available on Mondays (specific hours to be discussed during the interview).
Demonstrated ability and previous experience in working in delivery.
Ability to travel independently to and from the FRN to the Calgary Food Bank within the community.
Self-motivated individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Able to work well independently
Highly organized, adaptable and able to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds
Culturally competent and able to conduct yourself in a respectful manner, encouraging of the cultural/spiritual beliefs and practices of others
This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for work-related purposes. Applicants must show proof of a class 5 Alberta driver's license, a personal vehicle, and a clean 3-year drivers abstract. Applicants must also agree to maintain $2 million liability insurance on their personal vehicle.
A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and an Intervention Record Check must be completed prior to commencement. Any convictions or records should be disclosed before hire
Current First Aid Level C from an Alberta OHS Approved agency
This position requires travel to and from locations around the city. We ask that the successful candidate have a driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Experience working in a non-profit setting is considered an asset
