Digital Director (Volunteer) – City Council Campaign
Garnet for Burnaby is seeking a motivated Digital Director to help lead the online presence of an independent city council campaign. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the digital voice of a growing grassroots campaign. You’ll work directly with the candidate to develop content, manage social media, and build a consistent, professional online presence. This role is ideal for someone interested in politics, communications, digital media, or marketing who wants real responsibility and measurable impact. What will the Volunteer be doing? • Managing Instagram content and engagement • Building and maintaining a basic content calendar • Assisting with filming short-form video (Reels) at events • Light website updates (Wix platform) • Coordinating post scheduling and content rollout • Helping shape digital messaging strategy You won’t be fetching coffee. You’ll be building a public-facing campaign presence.

This is a high-trust role with direct collaboration with the candidate. Professionalism, discretion, and alignment with campaign values are essential. Opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the campaign grows.
Certification or Education Required
No formal certification required. Background in communications, marketing, political science, digital media, or related fields is an asset.
