FeedHalton Volunteer Driver
Join our FeedHalton team as a Volunteer Driver and be part of the important work distributing food and essential goods to Agency Partners in Halton. Volunteer Drivers must have the following qualifications: - Previous past proven truck driving experience with recent references - Personally insured - Class G license (truck license an asset) - Ability to operate a 24ft medium duty truck with liftgate - Be able to physically lift and move heavy loads of palleted food and goods - Be able to make multiple trips to various locations across Halton throughout the day - Be available weekdays, morning and/or afternoons (shifts subject to need) on a consistent basis - Be able to act as an ambassador of FeedHalton with partners, volunteers, community and staff - Courteous and professional This is a great role for folks on shift work or retirees who are looking to become actively engaged in supporting food security in the community. We are looking for multiple drivers who can commit to a consistent schedule through the week. Not each day but ideally 1 -3 full days a week. FeedHalton is the centralized food bank distribution hub for Halton Region. Our work stocks the shelves and supports numerous food banks, community organizations and meal programs across the Region. The Volunteer Driver is a critical role in the timely and efficient distribution of essential supplies destined for our neighbours experiencing food insecurity. FeedHalton operates an 11,000sq ft new warehouse facility and has new refrigerated vehicles in the fleet.
