West Niagara Palliative Care Services o/a Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers

Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers is a community-based, volunteer-driven palliative care organization serving individuals and families throughout West Niagara. For over 40 years, we have provided compassionate, practical, and emotional support to people living with life-limiting illness, those who are caring for a loved one, and individuals experiencing grief and loss.

All Rose Cottage programs and services are provided free of charge and are designed to help people feel supported, connected, and less alone during some of life’s most challenging experiences.

Our services include:

* Visiting Volunteers* – trained volunteers provide companionship and social connection to individuals living with a life-limiting illness, offering respite and support to clients and caregivers.
*Bereavement Support* – volunteers support individuals and families through grief and loss, including opportunities for connection, peer support, and community programs.
*Caregiver Support* – programs and resources that help caregivers manage stress, build connections, and access support while caring for someone they love.
*Legacy Projects* – opportunities for individuals and families to preserve stories, memories, and meaningful messages for loved ones.
*Community Outreach, Education & Support Groups* – programs that build awareness of palliative care, grief, caregiving, and community resources while creating opportunities for people to connect with others.
*Events, Fundraising & Administrative Support* – volunteers also help behind the scenes with community events, outreach, office support, and fundraising that make our programs possible.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. They bring compassion, kindness, presence, and a willingness to listen. Whether spending time with a client, supporting someone through grief, helping at an event, or assisting with administrative work, every volunteer contributes to a stronger and more connected community.
