Volunteer Human Resources Advisor – Remote (BC)

2-4 hours / monthly
3-6 months
Let’s Play! Society is a brand new BC nonprofit creating inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming programs for neurodivergent children and youth. As we expand our programs, staff team, and volunteer base, we are looking for a skilled and organized Volunteer Human Resources Coordinator to help us build strong, practical HR systems from the ground up.

This is a primarily virtual role and can be completed from anywhere in British Columbia. The volunteer will work closely with the Society’s Executive Director to support recruitment, onboarding, staff and volunteer documentation, policies, training systems, and other foundational HR processes.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with HR experience or someone developing their career in human resources who would like to use their skills to help build the infrastructure of a growing nonprofit while supporting greater inclusion and opportunities for neurodivergent children and youth.

We are looking for someone who is collaborative, practical, organized, and comfortable helping a small organization develop systems that can grow with us.
Certification or Education Required
Education or experience in human resources, business administration, organizational development, recruitment, or a related field is preferred. We welcome HR students, recent graduates, experienced HR professionals, and retired professionals. Working toward or holding a CPHR designation is an asset but not required. Familiarity with BC employment practices, recruitment, onboarding, policy development, or nonprofit organizations is also an asset.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Make a tangible contribution to a new and growing BC nonprofit while helping build the systems that will support its long-term success. This role offers the opportunity to have meaningful input into HR practices from an early stage rather than simply maintaining existing systems. Most importantly, your work behind the scenes directly helps us create sustainable, inclusive programs and more opportunities for neurodivergent children and youth to connect, participate, and belong.
