Looking for a passionate board member to join a local not-for-profit

5-10 hours / monthly
Long term/on-going.

In order to operate effectively, HOPE Outreach relies on the expertise provided by a well-rounded Community Board to oversee the execution of our strategic plan and associated programming. Board members take part in monthly board and committee meetings, attend and support HOPE Outreach fundraising and community-building events, and act as champions for our community throughout the Okanagan. We are passionate about community building and champion critical program streams such as outreach, overdose crisis, and community nights to provide women with educational and developmental opportunities.  Through our trusted community partnerships, we also connect them to housing, recovery, and health service providers to support them through their journeys.
 
 
Responsibilities:

Attend, and prepare for, monthly board meetings.
Serve as a knowledge center in the area(s) of: fundraising, grant writing, and revenue development.
Serve on a task force or committee.
Support of special events and promote HOPE within the community
Essential Skills or Knowledge
Ability to work as part of a team, active volunteer
Planning Ability, Ability to Analyze and Take Risks
Knowledge of Board Governance, Connected in Community

Two references.

Time Commitment: The typical commitment is roughly 5-10 hours per month, including Board and committee meetings.

Evaluation: Self and by the Board, annually.
