Graphic Designer for Social Media

The Mental Health Society of Greater Victoria is seeking new members for our social media team: graphic designer/content creator! In this role, you will work with our team to design and enhance our media presence, including social media posts, videos, logos, and graphics. 

As an organization, our mission is to improve mental health in Victoria by contributing to relevant education and improving access to local support services. Social media is one important aspect of how we connect with our community! 

We are a 100% volunteer organization that adapts to our volunteers' availability. All tasks for this position will be performed remotely on a flexible schedule. However, we host online meetings every two weeks for our social media team and one additional meeting every 3 months for all our volunteers. Currently, these meetings take place over Google Meet. On top of meetings, volunteers are expected to work remotely to complete their assigned tasks by the given deadline.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Keen eye for details and design
- Develop and curate engaging content
- Experience designing various posts for social media
- Experience with Canva/indesign/photoshop experience
- Passionate about mental health and visual branding
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills

Bonus skills:
- Degree in Digital Media, English, Journalism, or Marketing
- Experience with planning and updating brands 
- Video editing experience 
- Previous experience using Squarespace
