Care to Speak Peer Support Volunteer(s)

Care to Speak is a peer-based phone, text, and webchat service providing free and confidential support to healthcare and social support workers in BC. Care to Speak is searching for individuals who have current or previous experience working in either the healthcare or social services field and would be interested in volunteering their time to provide peer support to our service users. Interested applicants should be empathetic, non-judgmental, open-minded, open to feedback, have access to – and are comfortable operating – a computer, respect the confidentiality of others, and can commit to volunteering 4 hours per week for a 1-year term. Interested parties must complete online training prior to starting their role. The Program Coordinator and Quality Assurance Coordinator will provide ongoing support to all volunteers. Applicants must be residing in BC and over the age of 19. Applicants must provide two references and complete a criminal record check. Hours of training are dependent on the amount of practice each Peer Volunteer needs.
