Play and Learn Program Volunteer

West Side Family Place is looking for an outgoing, caring and compassionate individual to assist with out Play and Learn program for families with children ages zero to six. 

The time commitment is 3 hours a week for a minimum of three months. 


OVERVIEW
West Side Family Place is an affordable, accessible and inclusive family resource program offering a daily play and learn program for children and their caregivers, as well as parent education on Vancouver's West Side. Our mission is to help parents raise happy, healthy children and we have been supporting families for the past 50 years. 

The volunteer will assist the staff team in delivering a stimulating, creative early learning play-based environment in a busy multicultural family resource program. 

DUTIES
•	Support a range of developmental and age-appropriate activities 
•	Help set up and take down activity stations 
•	Greet parents and assist with participant sign-in 
•	Interact with adults and children
•	Maintain a clean and safe environment 

QUALIFICATIONS
There are not specific academic requirements, however we are looking for the following: 
•	Previous experience working with preschoolers, parents and caregivers an asset
•	Ability to work comfortably in a cross-cultural, multi-lingual setting
•	Strong communication and listening skills
•	Reliable and able to work independently
