• The Women’s Night Clinic Activity Leader plays a vital role in supporting women (cis and trans) and gender nonbinary (GNB) folks in the Downtown East Side (DTES) accessing health care in a safe space for gender minorities by providing free and confidential basic health care for women and GNB folks, including counseling, testing, and education. • Volunteers are very much a part of the evening, welcoming and chatting with attendees, assisting with activities, and helping ensure that everyone is included and comfortable participating at their own level. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Socialize and connect with Women’s Night Clinic attendees. • Assist with serving the evening meal. • Support evening activities (e.g. games night, beauty night, movie night). REQUIREMENTS • Approach all interactions with non-judgemental and trauma informed care, especially when supporting diverse populations such as Indigenous women, women who use drugs, sex workers, women navigating poverty or mental health challenges, queer women, trans women, and non-binary individuals. • Possess knowledge of local services, resources, and organizations is considered an asset. • Commit to a weekly shift for a minimum of six months. Shifts are every Thursday evening, excluding statutory holidays Activity also takes place here on other evenings: Downtown Community Health Centre (Tuesday) Heatley Community Health Centre (Wednesday)
