Sheway is a full-service primary care clinic supporting pregnant women/people and mothers with infants who are living with substance use challenges. The program promotes healthy pregnancies and positive early parenting experiences. “Sheway” is a Coast Salish word meaning “Growth.”

Role Overview
Support the Sheway kitchen team in preparing and serving nutritious meals to clients in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
•	Assist the Sheway cook with meal preparation and lunch service
•	Help with kitchen clean-up tasks
•	Interact respectfully and supportively with clients during lunch service

Requirements
•	Interest in healthy eating and enjoyment of cooking
•	Comfortable working in a kitchen setting
•	Competency in English; additional languages are a plus
•	Ability to commit weekly for a minimum of six months

Training & Support
•	Site orientation provided by Sheway Manager
•	On-the-job training by kitchen staff during first shift
•	Ongoing supervision and support from Sheway staff

Schedule
•	Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
•	Between 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM (shifts may be shorter but must fall within this timeframe)
•	No shifts on statutory holidays

Supervision: Volunteers report to the Sheway Manager and Kitchen Supervisor.

•	Site and task-specific orientation
Certification or Education Required
•	Food Safe Level 1 is an asset but not required
