About the Role:
Join a compassionate and client-centered team supporting harm reduction efforts in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. As a Harm Reduction Kiosk Volunteer, you’ll be the first point of contact for individuals accessing clean supplies and returning used needles. This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, reliable, and committed to non-judgmental care.

Key Responsibilities:
-Welcome clients and assist with their supply needs.
-Prepare and bundle harm reduction supplies to meet daily demand.
-Monitor and support safe disposal of returned needles (site-dependent).
-Share information about community resources and services.
-Maintain accurate daily records for harm reduction and volunteer activities.
-Stay informed about harm reduction best practices and services offered at the Centre.
-Follow safety protocols related to sharps handling.

Volunteer Requirements:
-Reliable, approachable, and assertive.
-Non-judgmental attitude toward diverse populations.
-Strong commitment to harm reduction principles.
-Willingness to complete required training and certifications.
-Ability to commit to one shift per week for a minimum of six months.

The Harm Reduction kiosks are located here:
-Pender Community Health Centre at 59 West Pender Street
-Robert and Lily Lee Family Community Health Centre at 1669 East Broadway
-Three Bridges Community Health Centre at 1128 Hornby Street

Depending on site, shifts are scheduled during the hours of Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 6:30pm
