Writing and Book Camp - Counsellors and Assistants

350 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC, V6B 6B1 [map]
3-7 hours / daily
-
This is a unique day camp that connects youth who are passionate about reading and writing with well-known authors and illustrators. Each day features different creative workshops from members of the local literary community. Our inclusive program welcomes youth who want to try creative writing for the first time as well as those with mountains of manuscripts!

CAMP COUNSELLORS: We require Camp Counsellors who are willing to take responsibility for a small group of campers throughout a week of activities. Counsellors should have experience working with children, preferably with a background or interest in education, creative writing, and/or library sciences.

CAMP ASSISTANTS: We also require full-time and part-time assistants who are responsible for helping with supporting the counsellors and workshop leaders, greeting the presenters, and documenting the camp.

Our previous volunteers have found the camp an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills in a variety of areas. An orientation session will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Central Branch.
