Vancouver Power Chair Soccer

The Greater Vancouver Electric Wheelchair Sports Society is a non-profit and volunteer-driven organization representing local Power Soccer teams in the Lower Mainland. Our Provincial Sport Organization is SportAbility which is recognized by the province of BC, and we are represented nationally and internationally by Powerchair Football Canada.

About Power Chair Soccer:
Powerchair Soccer or ‘Power Soccer’ is an inclusive adaptive sport that is played by individuals of all ages, genders and abilities that use a power chair, with an attached customized foot guard used to “kick” the soccer ball. This unique team sport that is played worldwide has 4 players to a side, including the goalkeeper, with two 20 minutes periods.

Power Soccer is a safe and regulated sport that parallels the outdoor game of soccer but instead is played indoors. Players develop new skills through regular practices and have opportunities to travel and play all the while having FUN!

There are currently teams in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Chilliwack, Surrey, Kelowna with more to come as we continue to expand!
