Help Shape the Future of Care for British Columbians Affected by Neurofibromatosis The Tumour Foundation of BC (TFBC) is seeking experienced and connected leaders to join our Board of Directors and help advance our mission of improving the lives of individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF). For more than 40 years, TFBC has provided support, education, advocacy, and community connection for British Columbians living with NF, a complex genetic condition that causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body. While significant advances in treatment are creating new hope, many individuals and families continue to face challenges accessing care, information, and support. As we enter an important phase of growth, awareness, and advocacy, we are seeking Board members who can help strengthen the Foundation's sustainability, visibility, and impact. We are particularly interested in individuals who bring: - Senior leadership experience in business, healthcare, government, or the nonprofit sector - Established networks that can help open doors to sponsors, donors, community partners, or funding opportunities - Experience in fundraising, donor relations, sponsorship development, or philanthropy -Connections within healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, research, or the rare disease community -Expertise in finance, accounting, legal, governance, communications, or strategic growth Board members are expected to: - Provide governance and strategic oversight - Act as ambassadors for the Foundation within their networks and communities - Support fundraising, sponsorship, and relationship-building efforts - Contribute their expertise to help strengthen the Foundation's long-term sustainability and impact Time Commitment - Monthly virtual Board meetings - Participation in committees and special projects - Attendance at key Foundation events and planning sessions We also welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of NF who bring leadership experience and a passion for advancing care and support for the NF community.
