Recreation/ Music Therapy Volunteer

Join our vibrant Recreation and Music Therapy team at Royal Arch Masonic Home in Vancouver, a care home for 151 residents. Volunteers support a wide variety of programs, including exercise, sing-alongs, bingo, arts and crafts, and more. You’ll assist in gathering residents for programs, encouraging participation, helping with set-up and clean-up, and returning residents to their rooms. In addition to group programs, you may also take part in one-on-one visits to provide social engagement. Full orientation is provided before you begin. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday–Saturday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays until 7:00 p.m., and Sundays from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. We value consistency and long-term commitment, with each shift lasting about 3 hours and a goal of at least 60 total hours. A reference letter can be provided upon request after 60 hours of service.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Volunteers who wish to visit with their dogs must be registered through Pets and Friends or the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
