Bookkeeper

As the Bookkeeper for Rhythm of Life Society, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization’s financial health. You’ll work closely with the Treasurer and leadership team to manage bookkeeping tasks including record-keeping, data entry, and financial reporting using QuickBooks Online. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience in bookkeeping who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.


The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player who takes pride in the exceptional quality of work, achieving goals, and having a reputation as a strong performer. They also bring previous experience successfully supporting an organization with its finances. 

Job Responsibilities:
- Establish clear, consistent financial practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Accurately enter and categorize all financial transactions in the general ledger using QuickBooks Online.
- Monitor daily financial activity and produce regular financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
- Issue invoices, process incoming payments, and ensure timely payment of bills and reimbursements.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure internal records align with bank balances.
- Organize and securely store financial documents (e.g., receipts, invoices) using ROLS’s standardized naming and filing systems.
- Regularly verify the accuracy of data entries, journal entries, and account classifications.
- Collaborate with leadership to assist in preparing budgets and financial projections for upcoming projects and programs.


Qualifications :
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is an asset (or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online for tracking, reporting, and managing transactions
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with accounts receivable and payable processes.
- Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable explaining financial information to non-financial team members.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
