Established in 2008, the Reign Foundation promotes advanced education and provides grants for educators and employers, empowering individuals for personal and professional growth. Recently acquired by Refood, this partnership leverages Refood’s expansive resources and network to significantly expand the foundation's educational impact. By combining food security and educational outreach, we drive positive change and help individuals reach their fullest potential, fostering growth in the communities we serve. Our focus areas are advanced education initiatives; grants for educators and employers; and personal and professional growth programs. About the Project: Newcomer Success In 2026, getting hired requires more than just an AI-optimized resume; it requires Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Legal Literacy. Newcomer Success’ 6-session program is designed to move beyond the application phase. We prepare job-ready newcomers for the reality of the Canadian workplace, ensuring they are not just hired, but also protected, promoted, and integrated. The Role: We are seeking a high-energy, empathetic, and professional Volunteer Facilitator to lead our 3-week/6-session intensive program. You will be the bridge between a newcomer’s existing expertise and the nuances of the Canadian labor market. You will not be building a curriculum from scratch—Reign Foundation provides a world-class curriculum and full training—you bring the passion and the delivery. Location: Burnaby, BC Schedule and Cadence: Total Instructional Hours: 9 hours 4 hours per week Option A: 2 sessions/week for 3 weeks (Intensive) Option B: 1 session/week for 6 weeks (Extended) Reign Foundation will provide training before the program starts Accountabilities: Facilitate 6 Interactive Sessions: Lead 90-minute workshops on topics including: Strategic Resumes & Portfolios Interview Mastery Digital Networking & LinkedIn Employment Rights & Financial Literacy Canadian Workplace Culture & Soft Skills Foster Community: Create a safe, inclusive space where participants can practice "real-world" workplace scenarios. Guide Real-World Practice: Oversee "homework" assignments that encourage participants to network or research their specific industries. Coordinate Logistics: Work alongside Harvest for Hope to ensure sessions run smoothly and on schedule. Qualifications: Cultural Intelligence: A deep understanding of the newcomer experience in Canada. Communication: Exceptional English proficiency and the ability to explain complex workplace norms clearly. Professional Experience: Background in HR, Recruitment, Education, or a related corporate field in Canada is highly preferred. Reliability: A commitment to seeing the full 6-session cycle through to completion. Vetting: All successful candidates must pass a thorough background check and vetting process.
