Language Technology Project Manager

Established in 2008, the Reign Foundation promotes advanced education and provides grants for educators and employers, empowering individuals for personal and professional growth. Recently acquired by Refood, this partnership leverages Refood’s expansive resources and network to significantly expand the foundation's educational impact. By combining food security and educational outreach, we drive positive change and help individuals reach their fullest potential, fostering growth in the communities we serve. Our focus areas are advanced education initiatives; grants for educators and employers; and personal and professional growth programs. 

HelloHeritage is a language technology project supporting heritage and reciprocal bilinguals. These are individuals who understand their heritage language but have limited ability to speak it. The project focuses on immigrant communities in Canada, including Tagalog, Punjabi, Arabic, French, French Canadian, and Spanish speakers. The work is research informed, experimental, and community driven, with initial and partial funding from Amazon Web Services Canada.

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the development of an early-stage language application from pilot to minimum viable product. The Project Manager will coordinate technical, research, and community stakeholders while ensuring timelines, deliverables, and grant requirements are met.

Accountabilities: 
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate between engineers, researchers, and community partners
- Translate research and language pedagogy into clear product tasks
- Support pilot testing with heritage language speakers
- Track progress, risks, and dependencies
- Maintain documentation for grant and reporting purposes
- Support budget tracking within grant constraints

Requirements:
- Three or more years of project management experience
- Experience in technology, ed tech, language technology, or AI related projects
- Familiarity with agile or lightweight project management methods
- Experience working with remote and interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Located in Canada

Preferred:
- Experience working with multilingual or heritage language communities
- Background in language learning, linguistics, or cultural projects
- Experience with nonprofit or grant funded initiatives
- Lived experience as a heritage speaker, child of immigrants, or member of an underrepresented community
- Comfort working in early stage, experimental environments
