Graphic Designer

Refood Food Rescue Foundation – Greater Vancouver: 

Based on a report by the BC Center for Disease Control (BCCDC), about one in nine households (11.8%) in British Columbia are considered food insecure. Refood Food Rescue Foundation is a non-profit charity that responds to this problem by reducing food waste, repurposing unattractive food, and re-educating the public about food.

By partnering with grocers and local non-profit organisations, we serve at-risk populations with surplus food that otherwise would have gone to waste. Since inception, Refood has delivered over 500,000 meals to those in need in the Greater Vancouver area. 

We are looking for someone with experience in graphic design.

Volunteer Position Title: Graphic Designer
No. of openings: 1

Estimated Time Commitment:  
- At least 3 hours per week, virtual
- Immediate start date; minimum commitment of 3 months is required.
- Weekly meeting: Wednesdays at 7 PM PST, virtual
- We are only accepting volunteers that reside in Pacific and Mountain Standard Time locations due to difficulties in organizing meetings from multiple time zones. 

Scope of Work
- Conceptualising creative ideas for each project with Refood
- Produce graphics for campaigns and events for publication 
- Establishing design & content standards & guidelines
- Ensure content is in line with Refood’s objectives & branding
- Working & liaising with different project teams for content, updates & ideas

Desired Qualifications:
- Basic graphic design skills
- Experience in institutional communication and digital project management
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools
- Creative and up to date with the latest web protocols, technology & social media trends
- Creative and open to new ideas & excellent communication skills
