Project Manager - Walk for the Kitties 2026 Event

This is a PMV sponsored project.  The Project Manager will enter into a 3-way partnership between the Client organization, the Project Manager, and PMV.  This will include additional responsibilities and benefits for the Project Manager.

Project Summary
Shelley Dowson is the project coordinator for the Walk for the Kitties fundraiser in September. She needs assistance in Project Managing the event. The primary objectives will be to coordinate and ensure that all tasks are completed on time before, during and after the event that is scheduled for September 13th at Jericho Beach.

Project Objectives
Assist the project coordinator in setting up the Walk for the Kitties Event to ensure a successful outcome
Coordinate volunteers and walk team members to meet project objectives before the Walk
Facilitate post-event wrap up session including lessons learned report for the next year

Required Qualifications
Minimum of one year’s project management experience, preferably with nonprofit or volunteer-driven organizations
Experience in event planning and coordination
This is an ideal position for a junior project manager or for someone looking to get experience in the social profit field

Scope of Work
Work with the Fundraising Manager to ensure corporate sponsorship activities are carried out by our Corporate Sponsorship volunteers
Ensure that virtual registration and fundraising activities are ready and functional before the Walk
Coordinate with the Communications team to ensure that deadlines are met for the Walk’s promotion
Oversee the T-shirt team with their designing, ordering, and distribution of Walkathon T-shirts for participants
Facilitate end of project meeting with team and produce lessons learned report for next year
