Project Management Volunteers (PMV) is seeking a Director of Operations and Finance to provide strategic operational and financial leadership and support the organization’s mission through strong stewardship and governance. The individual in this role will work closely with the Executive Director and the Senior Management Team, contributing to the organization’s efficient operation, growth, long-term sustainability, and continued success. Key Tasks Description and Related Responsibilities Oversee PMV’s Programs and Support Functions Current programs are Project Services, Advisory Services, Workshops and Day of Service, all aimed at supporting social profit organizations (nonprofits, charities, etc.) Support Functions are: Marketing, IT, HR and the PMO An active PMV Branch based in Victoria Each Program and Support Function has a leader, who is part of the senior management team Main Responsibilities: Guide the program and support function leaders Regularly set objectives and coordinate implementation Monitor performance and make adjustments as appropriate Introduce innovations and improvement ideas All Financial Aspects of the Organization Please note: PMV’s finances only involve an average of a handful of transactions per month and are thus fairly simple Financial recordkeeping and reporting, as well as compliance with regulatory, tax, and corporate filing requirements is taken care by an accountant Main Responsibilities: Budgeting and interim financial reporting to the Board Perform transactions as required Interface with the accountant at financial year end Propose initiatives for fund raising to allow expansion of the organization’s impact Organization Wide Operations Tasks Examples include: Tools and systems the team uses (with IT support) Collecting and reporting on performance KPIs Chairing regular senior management team meetings Supporting the Executive Director to enable her/him to spend more time on external vs. internal operations Apply The successful candidate will: Be familiar with the Social Enterprise sector Have hands-on experience in any one or more of the Responsibility areas outlined above Be regarded by peers as having a high EQ orientation Be available for 5 hours/week Be willing to commit to at least 18 months in the role with an option to renew Be excited to join a successful and very collegial group of volunteers who are leveraging their experience and expertise to give back to the community in a very meaningful way
