Volunteer Peer Support Group Facilitator (Remote)

Are you a person with a lived experience of pain who is looking to give back to your community? Pain Support and Wellness Groups offer an opportunity for people living with persistent pain to meet on regular basis to learn about self-management of pain, receive support and provide support by sharing knowledge, experiences, coping strategies, and offering understanding. Groups meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month with alternating afternoon and evening sessions. Each 2-hour session allows participants to share their experiences, discuss self-management skills and take part in gentle movement exercises as a group. Pain BC is looking for volunteer facilitators to co-lead/facilitate online Pain Support and Wellness Groups for various communities across the province. As a volunteer, you will receive thorough training and educational materials from Pain BC, as well as ongoing support from Pain BC staff to facilitate the group in your community. VOLUNTEER TRAINING DETAILS: The Pain Support & Wellness Groups volunteer training will be approximately 30 hours long with a mix of self-guided online training and facilitated (live) online Zoom training sessions. Live Zoom training sessions are scheduled as follows (Pacific time): - Wednesday, April 8, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM - Wednesday, April 15, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM - Wednesday, April 22, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM - Wednesday, April 29, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM - Wednesday, May 6, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM - Wednesday, May 13, 2026: 9:30AM - 12:30PM Attendance for live Zoom facilitation days is required, and online modules are released between facilitation sessions. Live training sessions will not be recorded for viewing later. Participants must complete a criminal record check. If you are able to commit to the training according to this timeline, please complete our application form below.
