Facilities Volunteer

Facilities Support Volunteers help maintain and improve our community environment at Pacifica Treatment Centre. They directly help the Maintenance and Housekeeping team with relevant tasks. This role supports the overall comfort and experience of clients and staff by assisting with small projects and general upkeep. Volunteers focus on enhancing shared spaces and supporting community initiatives. A clean, organized, and comfortable space contributes meaningfully to recovery and community well-being.
This may include:
• Supporting Maintenance Coordinator with small improvement projects in common areas. Relevant skills may include:
- Carpentry
- Landscaping
- Manual labour
- IT (Computer, audio/visual etc.)
- Home Improvement
- Painting
• Supporting House Keeping team with general upkeep of shared spaces. Relevant skills may include:
- Laundry
- Carpet cleaning
- Vacuuming
- Sweeping/mopping
- Organization
- Garbage removal
• Assisting with outdoor and seasonal tasks
• Supporting staff with approved facilities-related projects
• Contributing to special improvement initiatives as needed
All tasks are carried out under the direction and supervision of Pacifica staff and are supportive in nature, not substitutive of bargaining unit member responsibilities. Any role and responsibilities are intended to complement staff-led programs and strengthen client engagement. Work will be completed in accordance with Pacifica’s volunteer policies and protocols.
Qualifications:
• Ability to deal with others effectively and to communicate both verbally and written in English.
• Must have the physical abilities to perform the duties of the job (be able to stand/walk with clients).
• Must be 19+ years old
