Pacific Assistance Dogs Association

What began as a mission to train highly skilled assistance dogs has evolved into a powerful movement of independence, connection, and hope. At PADS, we believe that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to participate fully in their community.
For over 37 years, PADS has served as a cornerstone in enabling those with visible and invisible disabilities to achieve healing and growth through life-changing partnerships with our dogs. Many people living with disabilities face fewer employment opportunities and reduced community engagement, often resulting in higher levels of poverty and social isolation. PADS addresses this critical and growing need by empowering individuals with disabilities to live more independently, with dignity and support.
PADS assistance dogs transform lives not only for the individuals they directly serve, but also for their families, friends, workplaces, and the broader community. Each dog placement not only supports a client's independence but also increases their participation in community life and strengthens their social connections.
We currently provide follow-up and aftercare to over ___ certified teams in the community. Our comprehensive training program includes approximately ___ dogs in various stages of development, from breeding through basic obedience training to advanced specialized training.
Our dedicated community of volunteers remains the heart of our organization - we are proud to be 97% volunteer-run.
