For over 20 years, Leave Out Violence (LOVE) BC has been at the forefront of youth violence prevention, creating safe and inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, resilience, and leadership through art, games, mentorship, and self-defense. We are seeking new Board Members who are passionate about supporting youth. The Treasurer of the Board oversees the financial health and ensures transparent reporting by : – Monitoring budgets, income, and expenditures – Present financial reports to the Board – Support financial planning and fundraising strategies – Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations Ideally, we are looking for someone who has: - Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping - Is comfortable monitoring budgets, income, and expenditures - Brings integrity, clarity, and commitment to youth-focused community work Board members usually commit for at least 1 year and are invited to 5 Board Meetings. Meetings are held in a hybrid format and other social meet-ups are planned throughout the rest of the year. A typical Board Meeting includes a report from the Executive Director with past activities, highlights and challenges, priorities fo the upcoming months and a financial report. Each Board member can also join work committees based on expertise and interest to work on Strategic Planning, Financial Committee, Program and Activities, Policies and by-laws. The Board is made of 9 Board Members, including 3 special positions: 1 Chair, 1 Treasurer and 1 Secretary.
