Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House

Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House (froghollow.bc.ca) is a multi-service neighbourhood based organization, one of 8 neighbourhood houses and an outdoor centre which collectively form the legal organization "The Association of Neighbourhood Houses BC" (anhbc.org). The original organization, Alexandra Orphanage, was incorporated in 1894. As the needs of the community changed so has the function of our organization. As part of a worldwide movement neighbourhood houses strengthen and support the evolution of community life in ways that make sense to each individual community. Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House (FHNH) is a volunteer-driven community services organization located in the Hastings Sunrise area and has provided service in North East Vancouver for over 50 years. Our purpose is to support the residents of our community to improve the quality of their lives through community programs and services, issue advocacy, community capacity building and community development initiatives. We offer programs and services for seniors, youth, women and families including intergenerational programming, settlement programming, childcare and employment programs for multi-barriered youth. Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House plays a leadership role in creating our community together by connecting people and strengthening their capacity to create change.
