Chief Programs Officer

Location: Remote Commitment: 1-year term (renewable), part-time volunteer leadership role Reports to: Executive Director About Fluent in Minds Fluent in Minds is a youth-led nonprofit advancing mental health accessibility for non-English-speaking and immigrant communities through translation, education, and creative advocacy. We work with educators, clinicians, and community partners to reduce linguistic barriers in mental health care. Role Overview We are seeking a Chief Program Officer (CPO) to oversee the strategy, quality, and long-term development of Fluent in Minds’ programs: • Translation Program – managing multilingual content creation, training, and QA • Education Program – running school clubs, workshops, and community outreach initiatives • Creative Program – leading art, exhibitions, zines, and other creative mental health awareness projects The CPO ensures that these programs are impactful, ethical, and scalable, working closely with Program Managers and organizational leadership. Key Responsibilities • Oversee all organizational programs and Program Managers • Set standards for program quality, training, and evaluation • Guide program development and long-term strategy for Translation, Education, and Creative initiatives • Support institutional partnerships from a programmatic perspective • Collaborate with the Executive Director and CMO on organizational growth Qualifications • Interest or experience in program design, education, healthcare, public policy, or social impact • Strong organizational and systems-thinking skills • Comfortable operating at a strategic level while supporting execution • Alignment with Fluent in Minds’ mission and values • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or creative initiatives is an asset but not required.
