Coldest Night of the Year Volunteer 2026
Coldest Night of the Year is an annual fundraising walk across Canada which has raised over $75 million dollars for local charities who support people experiencing homelessness. The walk is in over 200 locations from coast to coast, with FIRST UNITED being the proud host of the Vancouver Downtown Eastside Walk for 10 years! This year, our goal is to raise $140,000 for our life-saving work providing essential services, community connection and healing to folks who need it. We are looking for folks who are enthusiastic about giving people direction and cheering them on as they walk 2km or 5km to support our mission to bring dignity, belonging and justice to the DTES. The walk this year is on February 28th, 2026, starting and ending at 312 Main Street. Volunteer shifts begin at 3pm and end at approximately 7pm.
