Volunteer @ Robson Square - Concession, Bag Check, Donations

Robson Square Summer Dance Series welcomes everyone to free dancing, lessons and shows on Friday nights under the domes at Robson and Howe. This summer we are running for 10 consecutive Friday nights.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2026 Robson Square Summer Dance Series! Robson has been running since 1979 with the support from volunteers like you. Each night, snacks and a lite dinner will be provided.

Location
Robson Square - Ice Rink (no ice in summer)
800 Robson Street (between Howe and Hornby), Vancouver
One level down from the street - Below the twin domes

Nightly Schedule

6.15 - Setup Begins - Committee and Volunteers arrive
7.00 - Event Starts - Beginner Lesson for ~30 minutes
8.00 - Performance for ~20 minutes
8.20 to 9 - Social Dancing
9.00 - Performance (only on select Fridays)
9.20 to 10.30 - Social Dancing
10.30 - Last song
10.15 to 11 - Takedown
11pm - Everyone depart

Volunteer Responsibilities

6:15 pm  -  Arrive at Robson Square
6:15 to 7  -  Setup
7 to 8pm  -  Concession 
8 to 8:15  -  Receive donations
8:30 pm  -  Volunteering complete

Setup Details  (6:15 to 7 pm)
Roll out supplies from storage area - Setup change tents - Put up posters and signage - layout supplies in concession area - place triangle sandwich boards on Robson Street walkway

Concession Details  ( 7 to 8 pm)
Sell bottled water and gatorade to attendees - Help attendees with bag check lockers 

Donations Details  (8 to 8:15 pm)
Volunteers check-in at 7:50 with our Money Manager and will be provided with a route to receive the donations from the guests during the performance breaks at 8:10 pm. The Donation Assistants do not have to directly ask people for donations, the MC will make an announcement.
