VR Event Host
We are looking for volunteers to help us with our virtual reality pop-up on Granville Island. This event is a drop-in VR event that allows the participants to experience 5 craft artist's studios in virtual reality. It is an outside event under a tent infront of the Craft Council. The event will run from 11-4pm. As an VR Event Host you will help participants fit the headsets on and give them a little introduction around what they will be experiencing. We would like volunteers to volunteer 2hrs of their time and there are 3 shifts open each day - 10:30-12:30 | 12:30 - 2:30 | 2:30 - 4:30 either Saturday Sept 19 or Sunday Sept 20th. We are looking for an outgoing individuals who love to interact with the public, are interested in craft and the use of VR in the arts. You must be comfortable speaking in front of people and giving instructions. The VR instructions will be taught to you 1/2 hr prior to your shift and staff will be available to help out when needed. The Craft Council of BC (CCBC) is a not-for profit organization looking for volunteers to help us continue to support craft artists! This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience working in the arts sector. This role supports artists by helping us introduce new people to our organization, spread awareness about craft, and raise money for our operating costs.
