We are looking for volunteers to help us with our monthly social event, Craft & Cocktails. This event has been a great way to make new friends and have a chill evening to try a new craft. We have a craft of the evening for folks to try out, or they can bring their own work in progress. As Event Host you will be leading the craft, giving instructions, and helping answer any questions. You will also be sitting with the group and chatting with everyone. We are looking for an outgoing, arts and crafts lover! You must be comfortable speaking in front of 5-15 people and giving instructions. The crafts instructions and materials will be provided. You do not need to be an artist to lead these nights, just willing to try out something new! The Craft Council of BC (CCBC) is a not-for profit organization looking for volunteers to help us continue to support craft artists! This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience working in the arts sector. This role supports artists by helping us introduce new people to our organization, spread awareness about craft, and raise money for our operating costs.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is a great opportunity to support artists and in a fun and engaging way! If you want to work on social skills, public speaking, instructing and leadership skills this would be a great role to practice that in a friendly and supportive environment. Build experience for art instruction and teaching, and for event hosting and planning. If you are interested in event planning and coordination, this role has lots of room to grow and expand.
